We'll connect you with providers who can do functional capacity assessments
A functional capacity assessment will provide recommendations for NDIS supports across all areas of your life. Assessments are usually done by an occupational therapist (OT), however they can also be done by other allied health professionals. HeyHubble can find you quality OTs and allied health providers who can do the assessment for you.
Covered by the NDIS
You can use your NDIS plan to pay for a functional capacity assessment. The funding you can use for this will be under the 'Improved Daily Living' support category, which you can find in your Capacity Building Supports budget.

What is a functional capacity assessment(FCA)?
A functional capacity assessment will look at your needs and goals across your home, work, community and school settings in order to recommend supports for you. The purpose of the assessment is to give you a detailed FCA report at the end. You can use the report to help you figure out how to use your NDIS funding, or share it with others to help communicate your needs.
You might find an FCA particularly helpful if:
- You're new to the NDIS and don't know what supports and services would suit you best.
- You have a plan reassessment coming up, and you need some evidence of how your current supports have worked out for you.
- You're entering into a new stage of your life soon (like getting a job or moving out of home) and want to plan ahead for any new supports.
